Accent Walls & 3D Wall Panels

Wood slat, board and batten, picture-frame moulding, limewash and 3D panelling — carpentry and paint by the same pair of hands.

A single wall can redefine a room more cheaply than any other change you can make to it. I design and install custom accent walls across Broward County — the carpentry and the paint finish both done by me, so there is no gap between the trade that builds it and the trade that finishes it.

The five finishes I build most

Modern wood slat walls, classic board and batten, geometric and picture-frame moulding, textured paint finishes such as limewash, and 3D wall panel installation. Slat walls behind a mounted television are far and away the most requested — it lets the screen sit inside the panelling instead of floating on a bare wall.

Built around what is already in the room

Panel spacing gets set against the width of your furniture and the height of your ceiling, not against a fixed template. On a slat wall carrying a TV I run the power and HDMI inside the framing before the slats go on, so the finished wall has nothing on its face at all.

One trade, start to finish

Framing, panelling, filling, caulking and the final coat are all mine. You are not scheduling a carpenter and then waiting a week for a painter.

“We had a walnut slat wall built behind the TV in the family room. Jake ran the power and HDMI inside the framing before the slats went on, so the finished wall has absolutely nothing on it. Two days, and he did the carpentry and the paint himself.”

What an accent wall costs

Accent walls are quoted per wall — the price moves with the wall size, the finish and whether cabling is being buried. Send a photo and a rough measurement and you will get a number back the same day.

Recent accent walls work

Backlit walnut slat accent wall with a flat-screen TV recessed into the panelling in a modern living room

Backlit walnut slat wall, Fort Lauderdale

A full-height walnut slat wall built around a 75-inch screen. Power and HDMI were run inside the framing before the slats went on, and LED cove lighting was set behind the top rail. Two days, carpentry and finish both in-house.

Floor-to-ceiling vertical wood slat panelling behind a black grand piano in a bright room

Slat panelling behind a grand piano, Weston

Slat spacing was set against the width of the instrument rather than a stock template, so the panelling reads as part of the room instead of a backdrop. Battens were sealed before installation to hold up to Florida humidity.

Horizontal wood slat media wall with a mounted TV, floating shelf and framed art alongside

Media wall with concealed cabling, Parkland

Horizontal slats with a floating shelf carrying the components. Every cable runs behind the panelling to a ventilated recess, so nothing is visible and nothing overheats.

Bedroom with a deep red panelled accent wall behind an upholstered bed

Bedroom feature wall, Fort Lauderdale

Panel moulding laid out to the bed width and ceiling height, filled, caulked and finished in a deep matte red. One wall, two days, and it changed the whole room.

Wall-mounted TV recessed into a white built-in unit with LED cove lighting and display shelving

Built-in TV wall with LED cove, Boca Raton

Screen recessed into an existing built-in, cabling buried, and the cove lighting wired to a dimmer so the whole wall runs off one switch.

Accent Walls questions

How long does an accent wall take?
Most single-wall projects are one to two days. A slat wall with in-wall cabling for a television and a paint finish over the top is typically two.
Can the TV cables be hidden inside a slat wall?
Yes, and it is the main reason to build one. Power and HDMI get run inside the framing before the slats go on, so the finished wall is completely clean.
Do you paint the wall as well as build it?
Yes. Carpentry and finish are both mine, so there is no handover between trades and no waiting on a second contractor.
Can you match an existing colour?
Yes. Bring me a paint code, an offcut or a photo in daylight and I will match it.
